I grew up with Hanna Barbera’s Yogi Bear. What a character. I also loved his cute little sidekick. The sombrero wearing donkey, Baba Lou is Yogi’s voice of reason (Yogi never really listens). Yogi is iconic as the forager of Jellystone Park’s never ending supply of Pic Nic baskets. So happy to hear that there is going to be a movie to keep proliferating Yogi’s crazy stunts and hearty appetite. Your illustration of Yogi is iconic articonic art . You make this noshing bear seem civilized. Real bears though, flesh tearing carnivorous beasts have a gentle berry eating persona. We can only hope that Mr. Ranger, makes America and Jellystone a safe haven for man and beast alike. Cartoons are the best escape for today’s society. Live action, digitally illustrated Avatar swept the public and honors as the best escape vehicle of the year. When all is said and done, I’d rather see Avatar than the Hurt Locker the Oscar winner. Could an Oscar be waiting for Yogi?
